The value in the unwanted

I spent the weekend thinking about the value in the unwanted. Yesterday I went on a foraging course at Horsenden Hill where my eyes were opened (and my palette introduced) to the delights of edible ‘weeds’; weeds being plants in the wrong place.

Today I took a fabulous group round Mudchute, Millwall and Greenwich on A Rubbish Trip, my walk exploring the area’s waste; waste being matter out of place. I’ve been leading this walk for eight years but it was only today that I noticed all the edible ‘weeds’ on our route. Such a fitting discovering, on a walk that’s about the value in the overlooked.

Here are pics of a few I spotted. I’m sure I missed many more.
